Category:
History/Politics/Anthropology
For the last 30 years Zimbabwe has been
divided amongst the Shona and Ndebele, with gross distortions of both history
and politics. Never told in that set-up has been the story of what is perhaps
the largest nation in the country - Bukalanga. Here is the vivid story of the Great Nation of
Bukalanga. Learn the moving story of this great nation, what was the greatest
civilization in precolonial sub-Saharan Africa. Their 2000-year history is
traced in The Rebirth of Bukalanga. Some of the great lessons from the
book are:
·
Bukalanga, constituting over 90% of the population
of so-called Matebeleland and about 50% of the Zimbabgwean population, were the
earliest Bantu people to have a sustained settlement in Zimbabgwe, South Africa
and Botswana, a region in which they
would found the greatest civilization known to sub-Saharan Africa. In
this land they settled 500 years
before the Tswana and over 1000 years before the Shona.
·
They were the first Bantu to be involved in gold,
copper and iron mining and smelting,
and international trade, trading with such far off lands as China, Persia, East
Asia, East Africa, India, Egypt and Arabia at an era when no other sub-Saharan
African peoples were involved in the same.
·
They were the builders of Mapungubgwe, Great
Zimbabgwe and Khami, and had the most well-organized form of government of all
sub-Saharan African nations - the Mapungubgwe, Monomotapa, Togwa and Lozwi
Kingdoms.
·
Bukalanga also had the most advanced idea of the
Supreme Being, believing in a High God called Mwali, whose origins are traced
to the Semitic world. Learn also the truth that Matopo Njelele shrines have
never been a Shona religions center, but have always been a Bukalanga religious
center. You will also hear the story of the Asiatic or Semitic-Jewish blood
running in veins of Bukalanga.
·
Learn how this history and heritage of Bukalanga has
been 'stolen' and falsely appropriated to the Shona, a group to which Bukalanga
does not belong as is commonly held and taught. Also learn the truth and fact
that the so-called Matabeleland
has never at any point in history been 'Shona land'. The Land has always been
Bukalanga, and the Shona have no claim to it whatsoever.
·
You will also hear the story of what has happened to
Bukalanga to destroy their onward march and civilization - the 19th century Ndebele
Massacres and the Shona-sponsored Gukurahundi Genocide in the 1980s.
